New ANSI Standard for Fatigue Risk Management Systems in Refining & Petrochemical Industries (ANSI/API RP 755-2010).Fatigue Risk Management Systems (FRMS) are the new operational standard for managing and mitigating employee fatigue in the Refining and Petrochemical Industries with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) approval on April 12th 2010 of a standards document developed by the American Petroleum Institute (API) with CIRCADIAN® acting as scientific advisors.
The published ANSI document is ANSI/API RP 755-2010 - Fatigue Risk Management Systems for Personnel in the Refining and Petrochemical Industries.
The movement to a FRMS model by the API and Refining and Petrochemical Industries represents a significant maturation in the understanding of and response to employee fatigue risk. These industries are to be commended for establishing the highest level of fatigue risk safety for their personnel.
